Rose. is a self-published and hand-folded zine containing 29 photographs and one short story. The photographs in this zine were all captured between 2020-2024, in the cities of Chicago, Stockholm, Paris, and Istanbul. Depicting everyday scenes and the persistent conflict between the natural and the constructed. In addition to the photographs, there are four documentations of sculptures. The sculptures themselves are a combination of inkjet prints collaged on top of a 3D print, made from 3D scanned found objects/plants.
The short story, written in the form of a musical canon, describes a walk taken by someone stuck in a circle of thought and emotion, someone in constant question of the world they are surrounded by, of nature, our constructed environment, and lastly the ultimate goal of eternal progress.
The majority of the works in this publication are on view in the Wakeley Gallery at IWU Bloomington, Jan 21st - Feb 28th.
